Keelhaul Key is an island in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. The only way to get to it is by ship. During the events of the game, Mario has to battle the skeleton pirate Cortez there, who is the boss of Chapter 5. Francesca, Don Pianta's daughter, visited Keelhaul Key with Franky, her husband, for their honeymoon. However, their ship crashed, and they had to be rescued. Francesca's wedding ring was lost on the island, and Mario had to find it for her.
