The Entertainment Software Rating Association is a video and computer game rating board that rates games in Iran. The organization was formed in 2007 by the self-regulatory organization, Iran National Foundation of Computer Game. The research project of ESRA is managed by Mr. Majd and run by a research team of 17 psychologists and 8 sociologists. Games that are not rated by the ESRA are considered illegal and cannot be sold in Iran. The games are rated into one of six categroies based on age appropriateness.
