Dr. Neo Cortex (fullname Dr. Neo Perwinkle Cortex) is an evil scientist and the main antagonist of the Crash Bandicoot series. Dr. Cortex is the creator of Crash Bandicoot who he originally intended to be in his army of super animals. However, Crash is now Cortex's main foe. Cortex is bent on world domination and the destruction of Crash. Ever since Crash Twinsanity, Cortex has been given a much more comical personality instead of always being serious.
Crash Bandicoot[]
During the events of Crash Bandicoot, Cortex created Crash Bandicoot with the device known as the Evolvo Ray. Cortex planned to make Crash a general in his army of super animals but the experiment failed when he couldn't control Crash's mind. Crash escaped Cortex Island while Cortex held Tawna hostage. Crash eventually made his way from N. Sanity Island back to Cortex Island after defeating many of Cortex's minions. Crash faced off against Cortex atop Cortex's Air Ship. After defeat, Cortex plummets down to the ground.
Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back[]
Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back revealed that Cortex survived the fall from the first game's ending. He fell into a cavern and discovered the a crystal. He is shown laughing evilly until the candle he has lit burns out. One year later, Cortex has created a new Cortex Vortex in space. Now partnered with Dr. N. Gin, Cortex plans to use the Cortex Vortex to enslave the entire planet. Due to only having the "Master Crystal" and needing 25 Slave Crystals, Cortex tricks Crash into collecting them for him. After Coco reveals to Crash about Cortex's plans, Crash fights Cortex in space before Cortex reaches the Cortex Vortex.
